For years I have seen Dr. Ferguson for issues relating to pain, but when I started experiencing symptoms that seemed related to a stroke, I was taken to the ER and eventually referred to a neurosurgeon. For months and months, I was tested, probed, and medicated (some which just caused worse issues), and ended up going to Dr. Ferguson to see if an adjustment would fix me.
He wouldn't touch me. Instead, he ordered another MRI for my neck, someplace that had been ignored (weird in hindsight).
It was because of his diligence that the problem was finally discovered. It's because he knows when to do exams and get tests done, not just "treat" a problem, that my problem was found. It's because of him that I have been doing much better.
I could go on and on about the many things he's helped me with, but this example is a perfect one to illustrate just how amazing he is.
Thank you, Dr. Ferguson.
Absolutely incredible professional service. I was experiencing chronic middle back pain, numbness, and intense muscle fatigue for months before I found MVS&I. I had seen several doctors, and experienced other treatments, PT, back injections, etc...none of which helped relieve any of my symptoms. I was anticipating an adjustment at my first appointment, but Dr. Ferguson wanted the full picture (literally) and was the first of my medical professionals to suggest an x-ray. From there he and I continue to work together to manage my symptoms after correctly identifying the source. He provides clear explanations before adjustments and follows through with treatment plans. The hardest part for me is pushing through the urge to give up...because PT with pain is almost impossible and the growth/results can be so miniscule. Dr. Ferguson is always quick to remind me how I got here in the first place, and stays on top of my progress. He cares, and he listens. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable with their work, and flexible with scheduling around pain. They have battled with my insurance company to fight for coverage several times, which takes a huge burden off of my recovery process. I cannot recommend this office enough! If you are struggling with pain, give them a call. Don't wait!
I began as a patient in early August, starting with a series of spinal x-rays for examination and diagnosis of my movement and pain problems.
The diagnosis and recommended protocol for treatment have been "spot-on." The first milestone was being able to trust my right leg to hold me up without pain or wobble. The second milestone was being able to stand straight--- more than an inch taller than before I started!
Now, at week 21, I'm starting treatment to improve balance for both legs, and neck at atlas vertebrae area. I've improved so much already that those seemingly impossible goals are getting to be within reach.
Thanks Miami Valley for correct diagnosis and treatment. And for your consistent coaching with exercises I need to maintain and continue to regain mobility, balance, and overall function.

Shockwave Therapy FAQs
Find Out More About Shockwave Therapy!
Without getting too technical, Shockwave Therapy is an FDA listed medical device that utilizes harmless, yet powerful acoustic waves to activate the body’s natural healing mechanisms. This non-invasive treatment option was designed to help patients dealing with musculoskeletal conditions related to pain and inflammation.
When these waves penetrate damaged tissue or areas of inflammation, it activates a natural response within the body as if a new injury has occurred. This immediately kickstarts the biological healing process by sending healing agents to help reduce inflammation and repair damaged tissue in the injured area. Ultimately, the goal of this treatment is to “awaken” dormant cells that are critical for healing – without the need for invasive procedures or medication.
When we are trying to identify damaged tissue or inflammation, we will move the treatment source around the injured area. When the waves from the treatment source penetrate healthy tissue, you won’t feel much of anything. However, when the waves hit damaged tissue, you will experience manageable pain or discomfort – but not of intensity that requires numbing cream or anesthetic.
Care plans commonly range between 8-12 sessions. Patients typically experience significant progress after 3-4 treatments, however, we often see a noticeable improvement after the first treatment. Subsequent treatments that follow will offer continual improvement and sustained results.
